After my meeting this morning in Palm Springs I was excited about having a block of several hours to make some phone calls -- including two conference calls -- in my hotel room before heading to the airport.
Unfortunately, the Palm Springs Hilton didn't want to offer me a late checkout. Drats. After much cajoling ("May I speak to the manager, please?) they agreed to set me up -- for free -- in the Caliente Room with a telephone and a DSL line.
That seemed like a pretty good solution to me.
Now I'm back in Sacramento for more meetings tomorrow -- and I'm hoping for another late check out to get some work done in the afternoon.
