Crazy Lady on Board

Finally caught up with Jodie Foster's new thriller "Flightplan" tonight. It was pretty good and I'm surprised it didn't do better at the box office.

Foster plays an airplane passenger who is convinced her daughter disappeared while she was asleep. Unfortunately, no one on board remembers seeing her daughter and there's no evidence that she even got on the airplane for starters.

I remember when this picture first came out the Flight Attendants' Unions were complaining about how they are depicted in the movie. I thought they came off pretty well, considering the circumstances (deranged lady demanding the entire plane be searched). It's the passengers who look terrible (immediately accusing some Arab-looking passengers on board, complaining that it's not like the lady lost something important -- such as a PDA). Why didn't someone speak up for the passengers? (Maybe because the truth hurts.)

Foster pulls off making her character seem crazy. But is she really? Posted by Picasa
