Achtung!
Saw "Before the Fall" tonight, an intense German film about young men in 1942 being sent to Hitler Political Academies to be trained as future leaders of the Third Reich.
Some of them begin to question the philosophical underpinnings of Nazism -- while others pledge their loyalty to the Fuhrer.
What makes the film so gripping is we all know how terrible the evil of Hitler's regime turned out to be.
It's also interesting to watch how German filmmakers are finally (after 50 years) beginning to deal with how Hitler -- elected by the voters of Germany -- rose to power.
Remembering history is vital in order to avoid repeating it.
