Went to the Ahmanson Theater tonight to see the courtroom drama "Twelve Angry Men."
I saw the same show during its Broadway run on December 30, 2004. I just went back and read what I wrote that night. I predicted the show would win the 2005 Tony for Best New Play.
In the end it was nominated for Best Revival of a Play and lost out to "Glengarry Glen Ross."
Like most bus-and-truck shows, the production at the Ahmanson isn't as good as the one Broadway audiences saw.
But Richard Thomas (John Boy) and George Wendt (Norm) lead a very capable cast in what remains a crackerjack production of this interesting show.
