Not Exactly Game Over

The Dodgers' lights-out closer Eric Gagne came in to pitch the ninth inning against the Phillies tonight. That's notable because it's the first time Gagne has pitched in a major league game in about a year -- following his recovery from two shoulder surgeries.

He didn't come in in a true "save" situation -- the Dodgers were down by two runs -- but the crowd went wild as he stepped through the bullpen gate and "Welcome to the Jungle" rocked the stadium.

He got his three outs without giving up a hit -- though he did hit one batter and walked another.

No miracle in the bottom of the ninth, however, and the Dodgers went on to lose 8 to 6.
