Summertime in the City

Spent a lovely Saturday evening at the Pasadena Playhouse watching their production of "The Last Five Years."

It's a cycle of songs tracing a relationship over five years -- from first meeting, to marrying, to breaking up. But the twist is the man's story is told from beginning to end while the woman's is told in reverse.

With only two performers, plus two people playing a piano and a cello, this show sinks or swims on the quality of the two actors. Fortunately, the two performers -- Misty Cotton and Daniel Tatar (www.danieltatar.com) --are top notch.
