Savor Every Day

Went to the Sunday matinee of Jonathon Larson's "tick...tick...BOOM!" at the Coronet Theater on La Cienega.

Larson is best known as the writer and composer of "Rent" -- the show that singularly defines new Broadway musicals from the 90s.

He famously died of an aortic aneurysm on the night of the final dress rehearsal of "Rent" and never knew the acclaim that show would bring him.

"tick" is his autobiographical show about a struggling artist in NYC faced with turning 30 without any success to show for it.

It's a powerful show -- made even more so because of the real-life back story.
