Very Niiiiice
One of the reasons I like going to see every movie nominated for a Golden Globe is I always end up enjoying seeing some movie I otherwise wouldn't have seen. (Another reason is it takes the decision making out of movie going -- I just work my way down the list.)
If it weren't nominated I probably wouldn't have seen "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan."
Not exactly highbrow, but I have to admit I laughed -- really, really hard. My inner 12-year-old was very pleased.
And it's truly amazing how Sacha Baron Cohen commits to his comedy and his character. Some of the situations (i.e., wrestling naked with a 350-pound naked hairy guy in the middle of a Mortgage Brokers Association dinner) are so outrageous it's hard to imagine they're real. On the other hand, it doesn't seem like it could be made up either.
As for me, I'll keep in character too and point out I earned two more ticks on my Golden Globe list.
Celebrity Sighting: Saw football player Jason Sehorn and his wife, Angie Harmon, coming into the movie theater as I was going out. (Apologies to anyone who believed me when I wrote I wouldn't mention football again until September.)
