When I visited Rio two years ago I procrastinated on seeing the Carmen Miranda Museum and went on my last day in town. That's when I found out the Carmen Miranda Museum is closed on Mondays.
So this time I made it my first tourist attraction (after spending a little time on the beach).
I learned some interesting information including: 1) in 1946 Carmen Miranda paid the highest income tax bill of any actress in the United States and 2) Carmen Miranda died of a heart attack in Beverly Hills in 1955 the day after appearing on the Jimmy Durante Show. She was 46 years old.
