Recently I've written about the 8-movie Pedro Almodovar retrospective underway. Unfortunately, I missed last week's movie, "All About My Mother" in the theater.
So I rented it and watched it at home last night. It won the 1999 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, and now I see why.
Almodovar put together the fascinating tale of a doting single mother whose son dies on his 18th birthday in Madrid. She sets out to find the boy's father (who never knew he had a son) in Barcelona.
Two very different cities.
This week, "Talk to Her" is in the theaters. But I saw it a couple of years ago when it first came out. So I'll be back on the Almodovar trail next week.
