Going Out on Top
After some gentle cajoling from fellow blogger Steve-on-Broadway (www.steveonbroadway.blogspot.com) I did the Sydney Harbor Bridge Climb this afternoon.
This photo was taken about four-fifths of the way to the top.
It was truly a spectacular experience and something I'll never forget.
In a few days the bridge will be celebrating its 75th Anniversary having opened on March 19, 1932.
The Bridge Climb began in 1998 and so far 1.9 million people have done the climb.
It's a long way up, but it's a leisurely pace with lots of breaks to catch your breath.
The whole experience is very well organized with professional staff to take you through every step, including "snuggles" if you get a little scared.
Tomorrow my grand trip ends as I fly non-stop for 14 hours from Sydney to San Francisco and then catch a short flight from SFO to LAX. I leave Sydney at 3:15 in the afternoon and because of the time change arrive in San Francisco five hours earlier.
