Sweet Pie, Lady

Saw a touching movie this afternoon called "Waitress."

It's about a waitress in a small southern diner -- Joe's Pie Diner -- caught in an unhappy marriage to a creep (played to perfection by Jeremy Sisto) and with an unwanted pregnancy.

Andy Griffith plays the crotchety owner of the diner.

The waitress pours her heart into the pies she bakes, pies like "I Hate My Husband Pie" and "I Don't Want This Baby Pie."

It's a very moving movie made all the more poignant because the film's writer/director/co-star, Adrienne Shelly, was murdered in between the films completion and its release.
