It snowed in London on Thursday. About four inches. One London newspaper, in characteristic tabloid style, described it as the "biggest snowfall of this century." In other words, the biggest in the last six years.
My departure from London's Heathrow Airport was delayed about an hour. This meant I missed my connecting nonstop flight on Austrian Airlines from Vienna to Istanbul.
Instead I had to wait a few hours in Vienna and then I flew on Lufthansa from Vienna to Munich and then took another flight from Munich to Istanbul.
I was originally supposed to arrive in Istanbul at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Instead I arrived around 11:00 p.m.
