Went to see Helen Mirren's new movie "The Queen" tonight. It's a compelling look at the British Royal Family as it dealt with the public relations disaster of their handling of the death of Princess Diana.
It's fascinating to contemplate the Royals as real people dealing with circumstances that prove the world has changed right before their very eyes.
Mirren is amazing as Queen Elizabeth. The entire family comes off as a bunch of goofballs -- but you can't help but feel some compassion for them because, under the circumstances, who wouldn't be a little off.
Looking at it across the pond, it's fascinating to learn about the British form of government -- one where the Queen "asks" the Prime Minister to lead "her" government.
