Caught Australian Dame Edna's show "Back With A Vengeance" tonight at the Ahmanson Center in downtown Los Angeles at the Music Center.
It's a very, very funny show with Dame Edna Everage talking about herself and talking to the audience. Edna describes herself as "probably the most popular and gifted woman in the world today."
Who am I to argue?
Tonight Dame Edna brought a young couple up on stage for "marriage counseling" which included a call to the husband's Mother in Hawaii -- broadcast live in the auditorium.
She also did astral reading by collecting shoes from (unlucky?) members of the audience.
In her program biography Edna explains that when this show was on Broadway "it was universally acclaimed and nominated for a Tony Award which she generously persuaded the officials to give to someone called William Crystal."
As always, the show ended with Edna flinging her trademark gladiolus into the audience.
