Later Saturday night I went to see a very fun little show, the Elephant Theatre Company's World Premiere of "Block Nine" by Tom Stanczyk.
It's a film noir-style crime story with lots of smoke effects and trench coats. The gimmick is the show is running in repertory with two different casts, one all female and the other all male. (Or as they put it in the program "Dames & Fellas.")
I saw the Fellas cast and thought it was a hoot. The acting is so (intentionally) over-the-top it really is funny. As they say in the play, "You don't get tossed in the can for wearin' a skirt."
