I learned something interesting yesterday. According to my tour guide, construction of the Burj Dubai has been halted because of the economic crisis. If that's true it has to be a major blow to Dubai's pride.

I also learned Dubai doesn't have a modern sewer system. Instead all the city's wastewater is trucked to a water treatment plant several kilometers out of town.
