Friday night I went to see the revival of "A Chorus Line" running at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.
It's an excellent production of a creaky show. I know this show was very moving in it's day -- but now that TV is filled with people looking to spill their guts in order to be famous, the idea of telling your secrets to a choreographer and others at an audition hardly seems cathartic.
Having written that, it's worth noting some audience members were audibly sobbing during "Paul's" description of his difficult adolescence.
Charlotte d'Amboise is terrific as Cassie -- and isn't it great to finally see her open a Broadway show in a leading role.
Michael Berresse plays "Zach," the choreographer who asks the questions during the auditions. I've seen him before on Broadway in "Kiss Me, Kate" and "The Light in the Piazza" and am glad he has another big role on the Great White Way.
