Passed through Victoria Station for the third time in five days on my way to Gatwick Airport this morning.
Despite arriving at the airport one hour and forty minutes before my flight I barely made it. The check-in lines for British Airways were out of control as were the security lines. (I was surprised because I breezed through Gatwick last Thursday.)
In line to check-in I had a nice visit with two women of a certain age from Buenos Aires on their way to Rome. Our flights left a the same time so we bonded over our anxiety about catching our flights. They were thrilled I'd just visited BA. We talked about how expensive London is -- one pound equals six Argentina pesos.
Though I was nervous about missing my flight, it still was cool hearing my name announced with a British accent over the loudspeaker. "Mr. Theodore Green, please proceed to Gate 104 right away. Final call for Mr. Theodore Green."
I made it onboard and they closed the door right behind me.
