I'm spending three nights at the beautifully appointed La Maison Arabe -- a nineteenth-century mansion recently restored into a hotel. (www.lamaisonarabe.com)
After checking in I was struck by how pleasantly silent my room is. So many hotel rooms are loud with street traffic and noisy HVAC systems. Once I unplugged the mini-bar refrigerator I blissed out on the silence and took a great nap.
Even the two LOUD Calls to Prayer from the nearby Koutoubia Minaret didn't bug me. (Jackie: I remembered you telling me about this.)
So far I've just been exploring the hotel -- tomorrow I'm looking forward to exploring the city.
